nature in the city: beloved garden birds

Every day back in our room in the Philippines, wonder | wander | women would look out our first floor window at the bamboo thicket and foxtail palms outside, and there would always be at least one or two birds in the branches.

sakura season

wonder | wonder | women are ecstatic to finally have the cherry blossoms making their appearance in our neighborhoods.

Whether in the UK, the US, or in Asia we love being embraced in their profusion of silky soft petals and sweet subtle scents wafting in soft clouds surrounding us on our strolls.

Wherever in the world we are their appearance bring us back home to ourselves however early or late they come and however long or short they stay.

cherry blossom time

The wonder | wander | women have definitely watched too many Japanese films. We've seen many historical sword battles or the slow grieving process of a family losing a loved one. Meanwhile in every film, cherry trees (or sakura) in full bloom shed petals like tears in the background, reminding us about the transient beauty of human life.

Easter Weekend in the US

Across the pond in the East Coast the weather is undecided at best and schizoid at its worst.

George Washington Bridge, Hudson River & NYC skyline

This Easter weekend was classic. Mother Nature had her April Fools Day fun on our behalf.

March full blue moon over New York City

Friday it was blustery. Saturday was sunny. Sunday was overcast. Monday it snowed.

Spring returns!

After the bitter weather of weeks past, wonder | wander | women were starting to wonder if spring was ever coming back. The week of snow definitely didn't help, although it was certainly pretty.
